Common questions

How do I sign in?

Setup uses your email for sign-in. Open the app or single portal on the website, and enter your email and password.

I'm not receiving the verification code when signing up.

When you first create an account, Setup sends a one-time code by text to verify your phone number. (After that, you sign in with your email and password.) Verification codes can take up to a minute on some carriers. Check that you entered your number correctly, including country code, and that you have signal. If it still doesn't arrive, tap "Resend code" or try again from a different network. If the problem persists, email us at hello@gosetup.org for help.

How do I add or remove a matchmaker?

Open Single Hub and tap "Matchmakers." From there you can add someone by phone number or accept an incoming request. To remove a matchmaker, tap their profile, scroll to the bottom, and choose "Remove."

How do I propose a match?

In the Matchmaker tab, find the single you want to propose a match for, tap their profile, and choose "Matches in My Portfolio." You'll be able to send the suggestion to the couple, then follow up with a message. This can also be done in collaboration with another matchmaker in a matchmaking "Room".

What is a Room?

Rooms are private spaces where matchmakers collaborate. Inside a Room, you can present the singles you represent, see who other matchmakers are bringing, and work together to find good pairings. When you leave a Room, your singles are no longer visible in it.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, your singles, your matchmaker connections, and your match history.

How do I change my phone number or email?

Go to Settings → Account. From there you can update your contact information. Changing your phone number will trigger a new verification step.

Why does Setup ask for contacts access?

Contacts access is used to help you find people you already know who are on Setup, so you can add them as singles, matchmakers, or co-matchmakers more easily. Granting access is optional — you can also add people by entering a phone number directly.

How do I turn off notifications?

You can disable all notifications from your phone's Settings app.

Is Setup free?

Yes. Setup is free to use and we have no plans of blocking features with paywalls.
